Five Questions Every Cyber Insurance Application Now Asks

Cyber insurance renewals have changed. A few years ago the application was a page; now it is a security review, and the answers decide whether you get a quote.
1. Do you require multi-factor authentication? For email, remote access and administrator accounts — insurers want all three.
2. What protects your endpoints? Antivirus alone rarely satisfies the question. Insurers look for endpoint detection and response, and increasingly for someone monitoring it 24x7.
3. Are your backups tested and kept apart from your network? A backup that has never been restored, or that ransomware can reach, does not count.
4. How is email filtered? Phishing and wire fraud start in the inbox.
5. Do employees get security training? And can you show records of it?
